“ After watching a few episodes of Walking Dead (Tv show) I realized I was not in any forms or shapes to defend myself or save my kids and loved ones...not to mention running fast or walking a long distance. 

My goal every morning is just to get to the class. Once I get there I am awake! Carrie is like a fun Radio channel host that wakes you up and lifts you up early morning. She always find a way to say something great about people....the posture, the kicks, the way someone is resilient, the T-shirt you are wearing or the new hair cut....
She makes us laugh and smile during workout...and the best part is...I don't have to say a word. (I am an introvert at 6am in the morning.) 

The class is broken up into 3-4 segments with varieties that I don't get bored....lifting weights, cardio kicking punching and core exercise....and self defense stuff sometimes, which I love. 

Now I just need learn how to defend and attack the biting zombies....!!!”

I’ve been part of the RISE family since the program opened and have been lucky enough to train with Carrie for many years prior. I say family because that is what RISE is. I found out about Rise a couple of months ago via ClassPass and have since left ClassPass to join them! The Muay Thai class starts with a very solid 15-20 minutes of intense cardio - never the same either to keep you on your toes. Carrie is an amazing teacher and as I am a noob to Muay Thai she's very dedicated to teaching me the basics while incorporating some advanced MMA. Since I've joined, Adele and Mike (who both have years of experience) have been awesome additions! You get a great sense of community there too – we all just want the best for everyone and in only a few weeks I’ve learned so much. Highly recommend!

Rise is a phenomenal place! It's run by Carrie who is one of the most fantastic people I've ever met. She's a highly experienced trainer who pays very close attention to each student and motivates all of us to push ourselves as much as we possible. Carrie is very supportive and attentive. She watches over us carefully to make sure that we improve our technique and don't injure ourselves. Carrie is incredibly funny, charming and has boundless energy. Every day with her is a special treat. Her music is fantastic and we're never bored. She motivates us to do our best every day. My daughter and I have been taking Rise classes since the very beginning and we're completely addicted. We work hard and we love it! My daughter is 16 now and she's become a fierce kick boxer. She loves Carrie and when she has to miss some classes because of her finals or too much homework, she gets upset because she misses that great feeling when you take Carrie's classes. "Carrie is an amazing trainer and completely transformed my mind and body in 4 weeks. I'm fully addicted to Rise and have been going for the last 5 months. It's one of the hardest things I've ever done but Carrie makes it so fun that you can't help but enjoy it! Everyone at rise is so welcoming and its such a cool and diverse crew of people. "Wow! I CANNOT say enough about Carrie Schecter and Rise Brooklyn or give it a stronger recommendation. It is the most outrageously fun truly life-changing work out I have ever experienced. 

After doing Bikram yoga for 15 years I had hit a plateau and was SUPER frustrated that no matter how much exercise I did or how careful I ate it would not make a difference – my clothes felt tight and I was miserable. On top of that, I have the scheduling challenge of having to be at work at 8:15am so I was looking for something early. 

I’ve now been going to Rise with Carrie and her team since late April and I’ve been blown away by every aspect of the experience. I am feeling stronger, more energized and see real changes in my body in just 2 months even though I had to take two different weeks off for a conference and because I got sick. The best part is that the class is a blast – it’s a very intense workout with awesome music. It never gets boring because Carrie is always mixing up the routine and we are always laughing. The hour flies by. 

I feel like I am working with one of the city’s top personal trainers (I’ve worked with several) because Carrie is always watching out for my technique. She has the amazing gift of knowing when to be a motivating drill sergeant and also a sweet, nurturing, encouraging friend when you feel discouraged. 

Plus there’s a whole added benefit of being with an amazing group of other women who provide support and tons of laughs. 

Brooklyn Rise has truly been the highlight of my year – words cannot express my huge gratitude for Carrie and this class. It has given me hope and inspiration when I had given up on getting my body in shape. But there’s more –it has helped me to tap into my inner strength, confidence and a laser-focused ability to concentrate on a goal and that stuff has carried over to every part of my life – work, play etc.

There's no judgement at RISE, just a great feeling of belonging to a family. With every class, you find yourself throwing more punches, stronger kicks, and with better technique. Even when I think I can not possible do anymore, Carrie gets that little extra out of me.
